District Science Center

The Thirunelveli District Science Center has added a new dimension to science education on the basis of scientific application and through the process of discovery. To inspire creative talents, the center has 3 permanent galleries on the sea, a semi-permanent gallery for popular science and a six-acre science park to help create awareness and quench the thirst for knowledge through image exhibitions. It is decorated with a constellation, an animatorium and an observatory. The science center also organizes mobile science exhibitions, film exhibitions, makeshift exhibitions, science dramas and science fairs.

Kunthankulam Bird Sanctuary

To the south of Thirunelveli is a popular bird sanctuary, a developing sanctuary for migratory birds. In winter, about 35 different species of birds can be seen here.
